After you begin to look with your real e…. (vacation homes in whistler british columbia canada)
After you begin to look with your real estate agent, make sure that you begin to understand the terms that are being given to you.
Before you become involved with anyone that will involve your money, you need to make sure that they are going to offer you the best.
Whistler Canada Ski Clothing Hire - Thinking About Replacing Your Retro Outfit? Consider Renting
The first Whistler BC ski trip of the season is a sacred moment, especially for the infrequent skier who is able to hit the slopes only a handful of times a year. The date is likely circled on the kitchen calendar, and your neck is probably programmed to turn and glance at its slow approach with a mixture of longing and impatience. But then, suddenly it?s the night before and you?ve gathered the courage to dive into the garage or basement to haul out your trusty gear: skis or snowboard, jackets, pants, boots and all.
You pull out each item, dust it off, perhaps wonder if it will still fit properly (since you haven?t upgraded your attire for a number of years). You half-heartedly attempt to convince yourself that maybe neon pink and yellow are finally ?in? again. After some deliberation, you briefly consider whether it?s time to actually purchase newer/better/hipper ski gear but remind yourself the top-of-the-line cost is pricey, and that is before dolling out hard-earned cash for your lift ticket, accommodation, transportation, meals, entertainment, and all the other activities that actually make a vacation worthwhile.
A conundrum emerges: how to afford quality ski and snowboard equipment and avoid spending wads of money. The solution: rent your ski gear.
This situation was recognized by vacationer Shannon Hearn when he first visited Whistler mountain back in 1997. ?I recognized a need for quality clothing rental when I noticed some skiers on the slopes wearing jeans and leather jackets — or if they did rent it was old ski school suits all the same colour and style.? (The neon rearing its loud and numerous heads once again).
One year later, with a little determination and entrepreneurial spirit, Shannon opened his own business for ski clothing rental in Whistler Canada, Whistler Winter Wear, offering quality snowboard and ski clothing rental to Whistler Canada visitors. ?I wanted people to have a great experience no matter what skill level?if you are cold you?re not having fun. If you are warm you can ski longer and better. And you will want to come back and do it again!?
Shannon believes there are a number of reasons why renting snow and ski gear is better than purchasing. If you?re on a budget, you may succumb to buying the ?cheap stuff? simply because it?s cheap. The better alternative is renting gear that offers better looks and performance for a fraction of the cost. Plus, you don?t have to pack it in your luggage up and down the mountain, and you don?t have to store your ski jackets and pants in your basement or storage until the next season.
For parents with children, nothing is more frustrating then spending hundreds of dollars on quality outfits, only to have them outgrow their fit a year later. (True, many a parent has attempted to stuff their kids into old ski gear out of necessity, but the traumatic memories can be avoided along with wasted cash).
Worried about wearing the sweat of the person who rented the ski clothing before you? Not to worry, as all of Whistler Winter Wear?s ski and snowboard gear is hygienically cleaned to stringent standards. The company also carries a number of specialty products like anti-fogging goggles and two-way radios for security on the slopes. (You can give yourself and your friends/family cool sounding code names). For those visitors that lose their luggage in transit, fleece garments, long underwear, and hats are available for purchase.
With all of these benefits, Shannon Hearn is proud of his contribution to Whistler?s guest community. Yet the reward goes beyond company profits. ?I am told every day how much our customers appreciate our service and products. It really is a rewarding job for me and my small number of staff. Not only do we help people in need, our unique delivery service allows us to meet and talk to people from all over the world.?
So before your next Whistler Canada vacation, as you dive into your basement or garage and are confronted with your expensive and aging ski and snow gear, consider renting instead. Unless of course, you?re convinced neon pink is making a comeback.

When digital printing was in its infancy i.e., five to ten years ago, the term inkjet-printers was widely used to describe either a wideformat inkjet printer or a computercontrolled contour cutter. If inkjet-printers T1 appears to the left of the font name in WP8, the font is not installed as a printer font, and will be output as a bitmap graphic. Holiday Vacation In Whistler Ski Resort
Whistler/Blackcomb Holiday Ski Resort was not even in existence some 40 odd years ago. There was virtually nothing on this now world famous ski resort but blizzards caused by the moist Pacific air meeting the craggy mountain tops on what was then known as the London Mountain. Sometimes, one can see an occasional lonely skier using a rudimentary tow or hiking up the slopes of the mountain.
This resort was renamed Whistler Mountain in 1965, named after the hoary marmot or the whistle pig. Today, this holiday vacation resort is one of the most popular and celebrated holiday ski resorts in the world.
Whistler Ski Village
The Whistler Village is an attractive, all purpose built-in resort and is known for its fascinating skiing vacations. This Ski Resort is also known as Whistler Blackcomb because of the two mountain peaks stood side by side and has the highest vertical drop in the country, both a mile high. A breathtaking and heart stopping drop indeed.
Although always complimented upon, Whistler Resort has its cons too. One of which is its low elevation. At only 2214 ft, the resort comes under the influence of the Pacific seaboard and tends to attract more rain than other resorts. Although this also attracts more snow on the mountain’s higher slopes, the prospect of going skiing in the wet is a dampener to the skiing vacation holiday mood.
For years, Whistler and Blackcomb were two entities and were fierce competitors until Intrawest, a major player in the ski resort industry and owner of Blackcomb bought over Whistler in 1997.
The two mountains are actually quite similar with each having more than a ski hundred trails many of which are long cruising runs through stunning pine forests. However, Whistler has more bowls such as The West Bowl, Symphony and Harmony while Blackcomb has glaciers like the Horstman. Blackcomb also have more couloirs such as the Couloir Extreme and Pakalolo.
Toward the bottom of the Extreme are two quad chairs, the Glacier Express and the Jersey Cream Express lies a magnificent collection of chutes and gullies which spreads across the mountain.
The Whistler Ski Holiday Resort also have an area for novice heliskiers. Intrepid heli-skiers can try it for a day before venturing into one of the remote heliskiing lodges for a whole week of heliskiing with Bell 210 or AStar helicopters. Then again, with such fantastic vertical drop in Whistler Ski Resort, who needs helicopters right?

Heli Skiing In Whistler BC - The Most Satisfying Addiction You’ll Ever Have
Warning: the following habit can be dangerous to your health, your family life, and your bank account. It can lead to prolonged periods of dissatisfaction with regular day-to-day existence, where the skies are bland shades of grey and everyone you meet is destined to bore you with details of the mundane. It will inflict itself heavily on your bank account, and will severely test your ability to pay-off credit card debt.
Should this habit be continually indulged, family life will succumb to its siren song and you will find your significant other standing icily at the doorstep, child at his or her side, a tiny hand intertwined and asking ?Where is daddy (or mommy) going?? And your significant other will stifle a tear, shake their head, and answer as if spitting the name of an enthralling mistress, ?Heli skiing.?
Yes, helicopter skiing and snowboarding is an extremely addictive sport, and should not be attempted under any circumstances. Unless, of course, you yearn for the mind-altering, neuron-firing experience of surfing untouched powder as if granted entrance to the slopes of ancient Mount Olympus and the realm of the Gods themselves. Should you decide to partake in the sport (strictly for the purposes of avoiding it in the future) consider Heli Skiing in Whistler BC as your best choice.
Gateway To The Gods - The Whistler Heli Skiing Area
Minutes from North America?s #1 ski resort lies endless high-alpine terrain and scenery guaranteed so induce belief in a higher power. The heli-ski area is composed of several zones with an approximate area of 80km by 50km. The enormous variety of slopes and ski runs is enough to satisfy skiers and boarders of all levels (though ?winter virgins? need not apply). Carving down wide open glaciers? Whispering through sun-dazzled tree glades? Post heli-ski adventure, it?s no wonder the morning traffic commute loses its rosy appeal.
Look In the Mirror ? Are You Good Enough To Attempt Whistler Heli Skiing?
Believe it or not, Whistler heli skiing doesn?t mean you are forced to jump out of a thundering helicopter directly onto the slopes, before proceeding to ?shred the pow? while cracking a can of Mountain Dew. (The helicopter actually lands). You do however, have to be in moderate physical shape and exhibit a positive mental attitude.
Ask yourself: do you thrive on powder and love a good challenge on an average ski day? Can you ski or snowboard down a run quickly, without falling (too many times) and have little difficulty? Do you have good physical strength, are able to recover quickly, and have no major injuries? If you answered ?yes? to all of these, chances are you?re a heli-skiing addict in the making.
How To Crush Egos And Choose Your Team
On heli-ski trips, you spend all day with the same people. This can be a wonderful opportunity for bonding and sharing a powerful experience with others. Or it can mean the character traits of your friend you find most annoying are multiplied to the point of murderous fantasies playing out in your head. Necessity dictates you must be brutally selective.
Ski or snowboard with your friends at a regular resort. Did everyone enjoy themselves? Was their anyone who struggled on groomed intermediate slopes? (No doubt they would struggle in high-alpine powder and hold your group behind). Look for interesting and fun-loving people that are easy going and aren?t quick to anger. Chat with your friends about what they want on the trip: massive vertical footage, vast-open glaciers, a relaxing cruise through the trees? Finally, assemble your group.
Etiquette On The Journey And The Slopes
Whistler Heli skiing is a life altering experience. It?s possible you may wish to contemplate this on the bus, the helicopter, on the slopes and in the lodge. But that makes for boring company for everyone else. Instead, be friendly and strike up genuine conversations with everyone in the group, especially if you?re alone in the group. (Remember: a stranger is a friend you just haven?t met).
Pay attention when the heli-skiing operators, pilots and guides bestow their valuable wisdom. (It?s quite possible the information may save your life). Help others carry their skis and snowboards, pick up dropped equipment when someone falls, and rotate who goes first on each run. Keep pace with the group, and even if you?re itching to blast down the slopes, exercise patience.
Treat Yourself To Fresh Powder ? The Zen Of Whistler Heli Skiing
While your guide will carefully evaluate the safest areas to ski and snowboard, keep in mind that avalanches do occur and are often beyond prediction and control. Always listen to your guides on the slopes. But that doesn?t mean you can?t forge some fresh tracks on your own.
Stay out of the flats, as you might find it difficult to maintain speed in deep powder. Look for big areas of white when navigating through the trees, as it?s deceptively easy to focus on what to avoid?and end up heading straight for it. Take advantage of natural features like lips, berms, banks, chutes, and bowls. Lastly, always remain in contact with your group and guide.
The Helicopter ? Companion, Lover, Friend.
Loud, agile, and your only means of getting back home, your Whistler helicopter is a machine to be treated with respect. Never ski or snowboard up to it. Stop a safe distance away and remove your gear prior to approaching the helicopter, and always from a lower angle. (Wouldn?t want an unexpected haircut?or worse). Avoid walking around the rear of the main cabin door as the helicopter can move unexpectedly.
Knocking your boots on the skids or on the side of the helicopter is a great way to shake off the snow, but it will attract the heated ire of the pilot. (Likewise, avoid using the instrument rods protruding from the helicopter?s nose to melt your gloves). Be gentle opening the helicopter door, as they?re designed to be lightweight. Lastly, avoid kicking the outside frame as you climb in by lifting your lower foot high, then quickly buckle yourself in your seat.
Final Suggestions For A Memorable Lifelong Addiction
Should you choose to continue on this Whistler Heli Skiing folly, you should come to terms with the fact that a simple fall or collision could result in serious injury. If you?re lost or stranded somewhere, you could face hypothermia, and even death. Even more unfortunate, your bank account will experience sustained depletion, your social life will stumble, and your significant other will starve for attention (unless, of course, you bring them along).
However the mind-expanding nature of the Whistler heli skiing experience cannot be denied. Who can say they have surfed the shoulders of some of nature?s mightiest mountains, gazing down upon the surface of clouds as surely as the ancient Greek gods did two millennia ago? Mundane life may suffer, but it is assured you will never look at the world in quite the same way.
Consider yourself warned.

The best season for visiting (high ratio mortgage whistler) Whistler
The best season for visiting Whistler
Whistler is internationally renowned as a year-round resort, with recreational activities for all the family available at any time of year. So if you are planning to come to
Whistler, what is the best time of year?
Let’s take this question step by step. If you are coming for the skiing on Whistler and Blackcomb mountains, you can really only choose sometime between November and April. Although skiing is available up until July, it is not for the serious skier, due to the combination of marginal snow cover and limited terrain availability. Within this time, don’t bother with November, when the risk of little or no snow will be considerable. So your choice is effectively between the months from December to April. What are the main pros and cons of each month?
December is a curate’s egg. The early part will find empty slopes, great deals on lodging and in the restaurants, but a bit of a gamble with respect to the snow. If the snow gods are smiling on you, this will be an excellent time to visit. If not, bring your oldest skis and set aside some time for treatments in some of Whistler’s legendary spas. Later in the month, and especially over Christmas and New Year, you will pay the highest prices of the season, have to fight for a table in any of the most sought-after restaurants and stand in some very long queues on the Harmony Chair. However you will experience the adrenalin which goes with the height of the season in Whistler: the buzzing atmosphere, the parades, the firework displays etc. If you can afford it, this is a wonderful time to come.
January frequently offers the heaviest snowfalls of the year (in 2006 January was the snowiest month since record-keeping began). It also offers great prices on accommodation (you can safely wait to the last minute to look for deals), and no lift lines, except perhaps on weekend powder days, when the cognoscenti will queue up early to leave their mark on the mountain. On the other hand it can occasionally be extremely chilly, and it tends to get dark very early. If you are a true enthusiast, January may be the month for you.
February and March see bigger crowds, but are more laid back. You might want to avoid both Presidents Week in February and Spring Break in March; if your family schedule will allow this you could have the best of all worlds: lots of snow on the ground, a good chance of sunshine and easier access to the best restaurants in town.
April appeals primarily to the British and Mexican markets, who come over for their Easter vacations. However, take care on your accommodation choice if you come in
April: there may be lots of snow at the top but a shortage at the bottom of the hill, so don’t bother to pay the premium for ski-in, ski-out accommodation.
As far as the non-skiing season is concerned you can write off the fall if you are interested in any form of watersports: the lakes are too cold. On the other hand the restaurants offer some great deals. A meal that would set you back $60-$70 in February can be had for $29. May and June can offer great weather; the conditions are ideal for white-water rafting in the snow melt and lovely cool, temperate days for golf. But if you want to swim in Lost Lake or sunbathe on your deck you should probably leave your trip until July or August.

In its sold-out (delegates and exhibitors) October 2006 ATWS in Seattle,
more than 400 executives from 26 countries convened, an increase of 32
percent delegates over the prior year. In the ATTA’s post-Summit (October
2006) delegate survey, 95 percent of respondents were “extremely satisfied”
or “satisfied” with the conference, confirming the solid return on
investment that attendees receive for their involvement.
“This year’s 2006 event went so far beyond expectations as to lift in a
category of its own,” said adventure travel industry pioneer, author and
co-founder of Mountain Travel Sobek Richard Bangs. “It was brilliantly
executed, as organized as a Swiss timepiece convention, with speakers who
fiercely challenged, informed and entertained, with participants whose
passion for adventure was only surpassed by a fervor to learn and share,
and featuring good coffee and fare, which may be the rarest of the
qualities cited.”

Whistler Zip Line - Harness Gravity For The Most Bizarre Ride This Side Of The Universe
If an alien dictionary on human activities existed, it would be an interesting read. Flipping through its hyper-advanced pages (likely written in their alien script, but for this thought experiment, let’s pretend it’s English). Under Hockey it would say, “An activity where humans slap around a bit of plastic with sticks.” Keep flipping, and the definition ofHeli-skiing would read, “The act of being dropped off at the top of a mountain, using two modified planks of wood to skim down.”
And finally, near the back of the book, under Ziplining, it would read “An elevated and inclined wire from which a pulley and a one-person seating apparatus are strung, allowing gravity to pull the human between two points. Used in some places as a tourist attraction.” The moral of the story? Humans will use any excuse to invent a brand-new way of having fun. Should you decide to prove the aliens correct and try ziplining for yourself, Zip Trek Ecotours in Whistler, British Columbia is the place to do it.
Why Zip Trek in Whistler?
Let’s be honest. If you are even remotely interested in skiing or snowboarding, you’ve probably heard of Whistler Blackcomb. I’ve done a bit of traveling in my time and if I mentioned British Columbia (or even Canada) to anyone I met, they would bring up the world famous ski resort. Why all the fuss? Whistler is nestled among vast and imposing mountains, nudging against the Pacific Ocean, which culminates in unparalleled natural beauty.
How Do Zip Lines Work?
Ziplining, while baffling to aliens, is the art of gliding along steel cables, using a pulley and climbing harness. Zip Trek Ecotours takes full advantage of their favourable environment. Their tour area covers over 11 hectares (33 acres) woven throughout areas of untouched, ancient coastal temperate rainforest. Guests are treated to a total of five zip lines, spanning between 80 to 1100 feet (yes, that’s very high). Total duration of the trip (depending on the tour) is approximately 2.5 hours, including a short shuttle to & from Zip Trek’s base on Blackcomb mountain.
What’s It Feel Like?
Being strapped into your harness and hooked to the zip line feels a little like a farewell moment. Like any experience of leaving behind the “normal” some people will find it out of character. All that empty space beneath your feet is slightly unnerving. What if the line breaks? What if the opposite platform collapses? What if I’m attacked by an eagle? It’s normal for your left-brain to try and rationalize your decision to zip line, and sometimes it wins. Yet there’s something primal when the right-brain wins and your leap out over the rushing creek below, and suddenly the world looks a whole lot different moving at high speed. Then suddenly you’re on the platform and eager to move on to the next line.
What To Wear
Whistler Zip Trek provides all their guests with all suitable equipment for the tour, so you can leave your own pulley’s, harnesses, and climbing helmets at home. It’s recommended to dress in the same garb you would for a regular day of skiing or hiking (depending on the season). In winter, layers work best. All of the platforms have heaters installed in case you need to thaw in-between zip lines. In the balmy heat of summer, despite the desire for wearing sandals, hiking boots or other athletic footwear are prescribed.
Environmental Learning
With the natural beauty of Whistler comes the desire to learn about and protect it. That’s why Zip Trek has maintained a commitment to minimizing its impact on the environment. The entire zip lining course is contracted in an area where road construction was not required, with the platforms and zip lines suspended high above the forest floor. Zip Trek is thus able to introduce guests to an ancient coastal rainforest with minimal damage to the ecosystem. They also aim to promote environmental awareness through dialogue with the guides, and interpretive signs on the platforms, illustrating key points about local ecology and wildlife.
So there you have it. It’s likely humans will invent even more bizarre and wonderful ways to cure boredom, and when they do, the aliens will have to update their dictionary. But until then, Whistler Zip Trek will satisfy all those looking to try one of the most unique experiences in the galaxy. Tours run regularly throughout the day, all year round, and in almost all weather conditions. Reservations are highly recommended.

There are endless skiing opportunities here for cross country skiers of all abilities. The rolling terrain is perfect for beginner and intermediate skiers, while advanced skiers will find challenges galore with the incredible variety of terrain. This is some of the best cross country skiing in Canada
Popular trips for Nordic skiers include skiing out to the base of a stunning glacier or along the shores of a frozen alpine lake. In the spring, skate skiing is also an option if the weather co-operates.

Of course, shoe shoeing is also a popular option in this region.

The Nordic centre will be located approximately 8 km from Highway 99 (22 km from Whistler Village), and about 14 km from The Callaghan Backcountry Lodge, a Remote Wilderness Lodge that allows visitors to the Callaghan Valley to stay in this pristine Valley while they ski.
The Whistler Nordic Centre project includes the construction of access road upgrades and parking areas, and three permanent stadium areas for Cross Country, Biathlon, and Ski Jumping, each with a spectator capacity of 12,000 (achieved through the provision of temporary seats and standing areas) In addition, 50 km to 100 km of new trails, 90 M and 120 M ski jumps and a Biathlon facility will be built. Various temporary and permanent facilities including a Nordic day lodge, sport operation buildings, and maintenance facility will also be constructed.
Construction of the Nordic Centre is should be completed by June, 2007 and will cost over $100 million.
The eventual goal of the Whistler Nordic Centre plan for the Callaghan Valley is to create an accessible, world-class destination for all of the Nordic sports, and to maximize year-round use of compatible outdoor recreational and sporting activities, such as mountain biking and walking trails during the summer? .. To that end, there is already a number of great summer activities here, including hiking, hele-hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, and photography. Depending upon the year, the alpine skiing season can last well into the spring on the glaciers and mountain peaks. Callaghan Valley is also situated cloe to the “Outdoor Recreation capital of Canada” - Squamish BC.
Callaghan Country Lodge
A longtime anchor for this area is the Callaghan Country Lodge, a deluxe Mountain Lodge that boosts comfort and hospitality to the adventurous who make it to this remote region far enough away from roads, traffic, and power lines to make one really feel they are ?away from it all?. Marketing and Maintaining Your Whistler Properties: Owner Assisted Direct-Rentals
You?ve been to Whistler for three incredible ski vacations. You?ve browsed real estate websites and chatted with agents. You?ve toured multiple condos, chalets and townhouses. Finally, you?ve found your dream Whistler vacation home and you?ve written a big, fat cheque.
But wait ? how exactly will you pay for this dream?
Breathe deeply into a paper bag and try not to fret. Every year, hundred of owners rent out their properties with the help of in-resort contacts and small property management companies. In our third and final article about Whistler property management techniques, we?ll assess how owners get help from small rental management companies and share the workload ? without sacrificing too much of their rental revenue.
How to Share the Workload to Rent and Maintain Your Whistler Property
Luckily, there are Whistler companies who realize owners might want to handle their own marketing and calendar management, but need a way to manage logistics like cleaning and unique touches like welcome baskets. But they also realize owners might want to play a small part in the business venture, and don?t want to relinquish all control to a full-blown property management company. With owner-assisted rentals, Whistler property owners obtain the reservations and collect payment, and their concierge service or small rental management company handles the rest.
Most often, companies like Whistler Front Desk, who cater to owner-direct rentals, will let you pick a bundle of services, for a commissioned price. Together, you can come up with an arrangement that works, and only forfeit about 20% of your rental income. A sample of these services includes:
- Cleaning
- Personal meet and greet
- Key pick up and drop off
- Welcome baskets
- Information booklets
- Minor maintenance
- Guest services
- Laundry of dirty linens
- Arrangement for transfers, grocery delivery and baby equipment
- 24 hour in-resort contact
The Pros of Owner-Assisted Direct Rentals in Whistler
Maintain control: Because owner assisted rentals don?t replace the owner in the areas of advertising or payment collection, the owner is still in full control of their Whistler property. Owners won?t be paying for services they aren?t using ? without reservations, there?s nothing to clean!
Proximity: Owner assisted rentals allow Whistler property owners from outside the country, or even the immediate area, to exert control without signing their life away with a rental management company. They can easily combine their efforts on websites like AlluraDirect.com or Vacation Rentals by Owner with the services offered by businesses like Whistler Front Desk.
The Cons of Owner-Assisted Direct Rentals in Whistler
Unnecessary services: It might be tempting to opt-in for services Whistler owners don?t actually need when renting owner-direct. Meet and greet and/or check-in services aren?t absolutely necessary for guests ? many owners just use a coded lock or a lockbox for keys. Guests can easily and self-sufficiently access properties without the presence of an owner, so why pay for the service? Mints on pillows and complimentary bottles of wine are nice touches, but are they really important in the overall scheme of renting out your property?
Money, money and more money: While small rental management companies and concierge services don?t take a commission as hefty as other companies, it is still a cut into the rental revenue. This is something all Whistler owners of vacation properties should consider. Money might bring you ease and peace of mind, but stall the anticipated rise in your bank account.
Whistler Vacation Rentals and You: A Fun and Exciting Balancing Act
As with many endeavors, deciding how to handle the renting of your Whistler vacation property is often an overwhelming task. Owner-assisted rentals exist as the halfway point between going at it alone, or

Pet Friendly in Whistler BC - Salivate Over These Tips for a Smooth Vacation
For most owners, your pet is like a member of the family.? Or in some cases, the pet allows you to be a member of their family (depending on who’s really in charge).? I have a sneaking suspicion that’s how my 2 year old mutt perceives the world.? After all I’m the one catering to her needs, filling her bowl every morning and evening, picking up after her, and dragging her bed from room to room of my apartment when she has nowhere comfortable to lie.? (Perhaps ’slave’ is a more apt word).
Either way, your pet is an integral part of your life.? So it’s only natural to want to bring them along when you pack your bags, lock your doors, and bid your home goodbye.? I’m talking about vacation: that wonderful time when work is left in your rearview mirror and instead replaced with a gloriously open schedule stretching out ahead.? And at your side, and probably slobbering on your shoulder, is your furry companion.
Your destination: Whistler, British Columbia, one of the top resort destinations in the world.? Whether you’re arriving in the summer or winter, a myriad of activities await:? golfing, mountain biking, bungee jumping, dancing, drinking, snowboarding, the list goes on.? And of course, you can’t forget frequent walks with your pet around pedestrian-friendly Whistler Village and surrounding trails.? Your pet will no doubt be the envy of their block buddies back home.
But wait…before loading up your bags, hitching your pet and heading up Whistler mountain, here are a few nuggets of wisdom that will prepare both you and your pet for the destination.?
**************************************************************
Find pet-friendly Whistler lodging. With AlluraDirect’s easy to use vacation rentals search engine, you can view 520+ top-located vacation rental options and book directly with the owner. Just make sure you select “Pets Allowed” in the Amenities section of the Advanced Search Criteria. Plus, you can compare detailed vacation rental photos, rates, features, locations & more. Unlike many hotels, you can see the actual rental you will stay in, before you instantly book it online.
On extended road trips, stop for some exercise.? Everyone needs the chance to stretch their legs once and a while (and perhaps a quick stop in a gas station’s restroom).? Give your pet the chance to uncurl and run loose for at least a half hour after particularly long stretches.? A nice game of fetch or a jog around the rest stop are a few examples.? But be careful about letting our pet run loose, as the unfamiliar environment may hide some nasty surprises (decaying chicken bones are found in the oddest of places).
Take your pet’s familiar items with you.? When venturing into the unknown, there’s little that’s more comforting for a pet than being able to rest in their own bed or blanket. Your pet will feel safer and more at ease.? As most owners will tell you, your pet will light up at the sight of their stuff.? Taking along a few favorite toys will also give your pet something to play with while you’re deciding your itinerary for the day.
Never leave a dog alone in your Whistler lodging for an extended period.?? Even dogs that are well behaved and rarely chew or maim anything in your house, can behave differently when they’re in a strange place.? (There’s nothing worse than coming home with shreds of furniture lying around).? If you must leave you dog alone for a while, consider employing the services of The Nanny Network or Tailspin Dog Care services.
Keep the barking to a minimum.? Much like parents who can magically tune out their own child’s ear shattering wail, dog owners exhibit the same phenomenon if they have a particularly talkative pet.? Let other guests enjoy their vacation in peace and remember to tone down the barking.? Also, it’s a good idea to keep your pet on leash while entering & exiting your Whistler lodging and to avoid your pet tackling other guests.? Even people who don’t mind animals can become spooked if there’s suddenly a slobbering tongue in their face.
Respect the pet policy. If your Whistler lodging allows pets, they still may not take kindly to dirty paws on the furniture.? Thankfully, AlluraDirect.com’s fast-friendly vacation rentals search engine allows you to read all the property policies before you make your reservation and avoid the hassle of trying to guess.? It’s important to sort this out before you book your stay - so you can simply find another property whose pet policy matches your own style.
Take responsibility for any damages caused by your pet. Accidents happen even with the most well-behaved pet.? If your pet has an unfortunate stomach upset and leaves “deposits” on the nice carpet of your Whistler lodging, or decides to shred some towels, it’s a good idea to own up and work out a fair cleaning agreement.? You’ll be promoting responsible pet ownership and paving the way for others to allow pets in their properties.
Keep the leash handy. Though Whistler is a dog-loving community, most parks and trails are on-leash only.? Thankfully, dogs are not barred from the Village, and you can proudly have your pet by your side as you stroll through the cobble stoned boulevards. As well, there are several picturesque trails for dog walking. (Lost Lake is a great place to start in the summer).?
Be prepared for emergencies. It’s a good idea to locate the Emergency Veterinary Clinics in Whistler before you get there, or early upon your arrival.? That way, in the event of an accident or sickness, you’ll know exactly where to take your pet for immediate care and attention.
So that’s it!? With these easy reminders, you’re Whistler vacation will be a trip you won’t soon forget.

Whistler Canada Ski Clothing Hire - Thinking About Replacing Your Retro Outfit? Consider Renting (whistler mortgage company)

Squamish, Whistler Real Estate Markets Gear Up For 2010 Olympics
There is nothing like worldwide attention to drive interest in a region?s real estate market, and nothing drives World-wide attention like the Olympic Games. Since the announcement that Vancouver and Whistler would co-host the 2010 Olympics, The real estate market in the area between Vancouver and Whistler has been exciting to say the least.
While the Whistler Real Estate Market is historically famous for its high priced homes and chronic staff housing shortages, much of that has dissipated over the last few years. Whistler Real Estate sales remain steady as its profile is further increased, and since, compared to options like Vail or Aspen, Whistler offers a competitive option in securing ski resort real estate.
Further to the South, things are even more interesting. For decades, Squamish BC, a quiet industrial town at the end of the spectacular inlet of Howe Sound, lived in relative obscurity between it?s much more famous neighbours of Vancouver and Whistler. This quiet town of 15,000 was home to those who were tolerant of the commute to Whistler or Vancouver, forestry industry workers, and a few passionate outdoor recreationists.
However, the fact that the next Winter Olympics will take place in venues both north and south of Squamish and a concurrent booming British Columbia economy, combined with a hot Vancouver housing market have boosted awareness of the Squamish Real Estate Market. Squamish is now attracting a great deal of interest as a place to live and invest in real estate. Housing developments are springing up or being planned all over this town, which has recently branded itself ?The Outdoor Recreation Capital of Canada?.
For decades, the spectacular Squamish waterfront has been dominated by industry, most notably a saw mill, a deep sea port, and a chemical plant. But the Sawmill is gone, and 1300 housing units are planned as part of ?Waterfront Landing?, a development by Pridham that will see townhouses, apartment towers, and an impressive a waterfront walkway talk the place of a former sawmill.
Further south, The District has also attained ownership of another 60 acres of oceanfront property ? a former chemical site, which it hopes to develop as a park and residential area, with perhaps some light industry to provide local jobs.
For many, Squamish?s key attraction, the one thing that by far sets it apart from just about any place on earth, is the incredible variety of outdoor recreation opportunities available in this town. Just the sheer number of outdoor recreation activities available is hard to comprehend and it is a challenge to even attempt to catalogue them all. The rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, white water kayaking, ocean kayaking, kite surfing, wind surfing, and river rafting are all frequently described as ?world class? in Squamish. Add to that three great golf courses, horseback riding, scuba diving, fishing, some road cycling and options for boat tours or air tours, and it is clear that many days of adventure can be fulfilled in Squamish, whether by resident or tourist. And of course, for those living in Squamish, a considerable bonus is the proximity to Whistler, putting world class downhill skiing a short drive away.
Moving towards taking advantage of the growing tourism opportunities, The District of Squamish has just completed a Tourism Information Centre on the well-traveled Highway 99. The $6 million structure is known as the ?The Adventure Centre?. The impressive, ?saddle shaped? building contains a coffee shop and district offices as well as standard Tourist Information Offices.
Real Estate in Squamish draws a great deal of interest from North Vancouver and with the commute from Squamish to Vancouver now shorter than from the Fraser Valley, there is a lot of interest from residents who are not sure they want to endure the daily slow drive from the Fraser Valley, the area to the east of Vancouver that has seen the greatest interest from the Vancouver based worker. And with its isolation, Squamish offers an escape from urban sprawl and an authentic small town feel.
Squamish has seen a huge increase in prices, with eight $1,000,000 plus homes for sale at the current time, and it is predicted that in a couple years time, it will be quite common to see $1,000,000 homes. At the other end of the real estate market, Squamish remains the most affordable community between Maple Ridge and Whistler.
Squamish market is also attracting young urban dwellers hoping to purchase reasonably priced homes in a favorite destination for recreation. Squamish is confident that it can sustain this growth and that it has every opportunity to become the service centre for places like Whistler and Pemberton, the other main towns in the Sea to Sky corridor. The addition of stores like Wal-Mart and Home Depot will inevitably make Squamish the place where people from Pemberton and Whistler go to shop, rather than having to drive the extra miles to North Vancouver.

(Whistler custom homes) A Day In Whistler
A Day In Whistler
The snow is falling furiously outside my window when I am woken by telephone ringing at 0710. I remember that I asked to be called early if it was snowing, and Stefan, my hunky Austrian instructor is at the other end of the line. ?I?ll see you at the bottom of the Creekside gondola in 20 minutes?, he says. ?Can you really make it that quickly??. He doesn?t realize that I am staying at one of Holiday Whistler?s ski-in, ski-out homes in Taluswood, a spectacular development of ski lodge homes on the lower slopes of Whistler Mountain. All I have to do is pull my ski clothes on, ease into my boots, grab my skis and poles, press the button that opens the garage door and walk the 10 yards to the ski-out trail. A minute later I am at the bottom of the gondola. In fact ? and to his astonishment ? I am here before Stefan. It is only 7.24. We have agreed to meet early to take advantage of the conditions. We have our ?Fresh Tracks? tickets, which entitle us to catch the first lift up and breakfast at the Roundhouse. Whistler skiers know that when the snow is falling heavily in the Village it is really falling at the top ? after all, it?s over a vertical mile higher ? and that if they want to find some untracked snow without a hour?s hike they?d better be first up the mountain, which means ?Fresh Tracks?.
Stefan has moved to Whistler from Kitzbuhel. He has transferred from the legendary Rote Teufel ? the Red Devils of the Kitzbuhel Skischool ? to the equally legendary Whistler-Blackcomb Ski School. After we have eaten our fill at the Roundhouse (which is not round at all, but apparently it once was) the all clear is sounded and we rush out onto the slopes. It is still snowing like hell, but following Stefan makes this somewhat easier: he knows every mogul on the mountain and his smooth rhythms through the powder, which he can effortlessly modulate to stay just ahead of me, are almost as good a guide as bright sunshine and some nearby trees for definition. Needless to say, my thighs are burning and my goggles (c. 1991) are fogged up from the sweat of my brow. Naturally, Stefan?s Oakley goggles (c. 2005) are crystal clear, since this is not even a mild workout for him.
We are among the first onto the Peak Chair, whence originate some of Whistler?s best and least know powder runs. Our first run is Christmas Trees, which starts parallel to the Peak Chair but then angles off to the left down a ridge of trees more or less parallel to Big Red. There are many routes through these trees but you have to know them as there are also many traps for the unwary. Luckily Stefan can ski his way through these trees blindfold. We do this run a couple of times and try some of the double black diamond runs off the Harmony Ridge ? so much snow has fallen that even though I fall down after every jump my landing is soft as, well as Whistler powder.
After a full day with Stefan I ski back to my front door ? literally ? peel off my clothes and sink into the hot tub, which is nestled in the woods at the back of the townhome. I have taken the precaution of booking a masseuse; after the powerful jets have done their work she starts hers An hour later her powerful fingers have done the trick and I am feeling immensely relaxed and deeply somnolent. I worry ? well I worry a little - about whether a stiff cocktail will knock me out or revive me for the evening?s activities, but as the ice-cold Martini is absorbed into my blood stream I find myself quite ready for an evening?s dining at one of Whistler?s legendary restaurants. Another great day in Whistler.

If you are deciding to move into a home,…. (resort property whistler)
If you are deciding to move into a home, it is more than getting on the right grounds.
Whistler Accommodation - Practical Tips For Surviving Whistler On A Shoestring Budget
Let’s face it. A ski vacation to the world-renowned Whistler resort in BC, Canada is expensive. The stunning mountain vistas, unique restaurants, and various types of accomodation will have you wondering what happened to your money.
Yet, like all premiere vacations, where there’s a will, there are tips to stretch your dollars and still enjoy your trip.
Tip 1 - Avoid Hotels & Book Your Whistler Accommodation Directly with Homeowners
Booking your Whistler accomodation directly with homeowners and small companies saves you money by avoiding layers of middle agent fees. Most owners also do not charge the non-refundable 10% hotel tax, and prices are quoted for up to the maximum sleeping capacity of the property, not per person.
Renting a vacation condo instead of a hotel room also gives you the option to cook your own savory meals, saving you heaps of money on restaurant bills. You can save even more on groceries by ordering them online, or by buying them in Squamish on the way up to Whistler. And don’t forget, most owners have free parking, whereas most rental managers and hotels have additional nightly parking fees.
Tip 2 - Plan your Whistler Accommodation Dates Around Seasonal Lift Ticket Pricing
Did you know that that your Whistler lift ticket’s total price depends on the season in which your start day falls? Shifting your Whistler accomodation dates by as little as one night can save you hundreds of dollars due to seasonal nightly pricing.
Even if your ski ticket starts on the last day of a cheap price season but the majority of your skiing/riding days fall in an expensive one, your entire ticket will be priced based on the cheap season pricing. Plan your skiing/riding start day in a cheap season date, and you could ski/ride through the most expensive seasons at a fraction of the price.
Tip 3 - Plan Your Vacation Around Special Whistler Accomodation & Resort Promotions
Plan your dates around Whistler promotions to layer more savings onto your early booking discounts. For example, during Discover Whistler Weeks you can save up to 50% on adult and kids snow school programs. It’s by far the least expensive way to introduce yourself to the slopes and learn to ski or snowboard.
Tip 4 - Don’t Rule Out Lofts Or Dens As Bedrooms In Your Whistler Accomodation Choices
Did you know that lofts and dens can often serve as comfortable bedrooms? Don’t rule out this option, because booking a 2 bed + loft home, rather than a 3 bedroom home, could save you thousands of dollars. After all, there are a lot more interesting ways to spend a thousand dollars.
Tip 5 - Consider Alternative Locations To Ski-In/Out Or Slope side Accommodations
Whistler’s excellent free shuttle system quickly links most areas to the Village and the gondola bases. You’ll end up paying a lot less money while remaining close to everything, or at least a short shuttle ride away. As well, it’s possible to score a bigger property and more amenities for the same amount of money.
Remember, slope side locations are only valuable when there is sufficient snow. With downloading in effect for most of November, December and April, you may be paying a lot of money for poor ski-in/out conditions.
Tip 6 - Invite More Friends And Share The Cost
When searching for your Whistler accommodation, check out the larger properties and consider inviting a good friend, another family or favorite family member! Getting a bigger property and adding an extra two people could save you a few hundred dollars by spreading the cost out. This is especially true if the larger property is almost the same price as the slightly smaller one.
Tip 7 - Take a Limo or Charter A Van Instead of Renting a Car
Whistler’s excellent free shuttle system means that renting a car may not be necessary while you are in the resort. If you don’t rent a car, how do you get there? Consider sharing a limo or chartering a van. It is often cheaper than renting a car or taking the bus, when divided among all the people in your group or family. You can relax and enjoy the scenery on your way up to Whistler, after your exhausting travel day.
Tip 8 - Watch For Typical Whistler Accomodations Scams
There are many Whistler promotions out there that either sound too good to be true, or weren’t quite what you expected. Here are some things to watch out for:
- Hidden nightly parking fees
- Prices quoted per person, and not for up to the total maximum sleeping capacity of the property
- Deals where availability is suddenly sold out, so you have to call someone-watch out, you will be upsold.
- Hidden sales taxes, like the 10% non-refundable sales tax.
- Blind booking, where you are not given the name of the property you are staying in until after you have paid for it.

?Marketing (whistler blackomb real estate) and Maintaining Your Whistler Vacation Home: Direct-Rentals?
?Marketing and Maintaining Your Whistler Vacation Home: Direct-Rentals?
|
|
Owning a Whistler property: it?s about realizing a dream. But it?s also about sustaining yourself long enough to enjoy the dream. While some relish the idea of relinquishing control of their real estate investment and letting someone else do the dirty work, others prefer to take matters in to their own hands.
In our last article, we assessed the pros and cons of using a rental manager to handle the ins and outs of renting out your Whistler vacation home. We discussed marketing, emergencies, reservations and commissioned nightly rentals. Of course, using a rental manager is not the only option.
Today, we?ll hit the other end of the spectrum and discuss the parameters of direct-rentals.
Whistler Direct-Rentals: What Are Those, Anyway?
Owner-direct rentals are exactly what they sound like: owners renting their properties directly to Whistler guests. Instead of using a rental manager to entice guests, owners undertake the task themselves. They advertise their property, screen guests, update their reservation calendars and collect payments. Owners have complete control over how often a guest rents their property ? which can be a good or bad thing. Because owners are responsible for advertising their own property, as well as creating their own merchant account, collecting damage deposits or waiting for cheques in the mail, they might never get around to renting out their home much at all.
While freedom is a plus, there is no guarantee the owner will rent out their property, or even receive those very important cheques in the mail.
Where Do Homeowners Advertise Their Whistler Rentals?
Doing direct-rentals does not necessarily mean relying on word of mouth to communicate the availability of your property. Many owners use online directories to help with the marketing of their properties. The options provided by these online directories vary. Some owners post in online classifieds, or sign up for detailed rental management software. No matter what tools are offered through any of these marketing channels, the purpose of direct-rentals is to allow property owners to take charge of their real estate investment and avoid losing their money to external property management companies and services.
Stay tuned for the third and final article in this series: owner-assisted rentals.

(Whistler bc show homes) Whistler BC Ski Vacations - 9 Local Secrets for Getting Top Value
Whistler BC Ski Vacations - 9 Local Secrets for Getting Top Value
Whistler BC Canada is an exceptional winter destination ski resort, but you do not have to pay exceptionally high prices to enjoy its breathtaking beauty and unbeatable terrain diversity.
Whistler is affordable once you know the local money-saving secrets. Here are 9 local tips for getting maximum Whistler value, while enriching your vacation experience to create beautiful lifetime memories.
Tip #1- Be Date-Flexible
Most ski vacation destinations have holiday date-driven pricing grids. Some vacation dates will cost you more (like New Year’s), while, others will cost you a lot less. Fortunately, most seasonal price fluctuations have little to do with snow conditions, and more to do with consumer demand!
Whistler is no different.
What does this mean for you?
You will pay a lot less, get great snow conditions and avoid crowds by planning your vacation around non-peak holiday dates.
Here are some of Whistler Blackcomb’s best kept secret vacation dates, when you can expect to get the hill to yourself and get better accommodation value:
Nov. 23 - Dec. 22 2006,
Jan. 15 - Feb. 11 2007,
Feb. 26 - March 11 2007,
Apr. 16 - 22 2007
Tip #2- Reduce Your Whistler Accommodation Costs by Arriving and Departing a Few Days Earlier or Later During Peak Holiday Periods
If you are planning on visiting Whistler during peak holiday dates like Christmas, New Years, Spring Break or Easter, try to arrive and leave day or two earlier or later.
This will not affect the total number of days that you enjoy Whistler, but could limit the number of nights for which you are paying top accommodations dollar in peak holiday season, which can often translate into many hundreds of dollars in accommodation savings.
Limit the number of nights that you stay in the most expensive seasons by adjusting your arrival and departure dates to include cheaper seasonal rates.
Tip#3-Plan Vacation Dates Around Lift Ticket Seasonal Pricing Dates
Like accommodations, Whistler lift ticket seasonal price ranges also reflect peak holiday dates. Lift tickets cost more during peak holiday periods.
In cases where your lift ticket may overlap date-driven price ranges, the total price you pay for a Whistler Blackcomb lift pass is determined by the date-driven price scale in which your first skiing/riding day falls.
Plan your vacation around starting to ski/ride within a date-driven price range with the lowest lift ticket prices, even if you start on the last day of that date-driven ticket season price. As long as your first day falls in the best price range, your entire ticket price will fall within he cheaper range.
For example, the 2006/2007 ticket window price for 5 of 6 day tickets that starts November 23-December 22 inclusive, is $340.00 CAD + 6% GST. The same 5 of 6 day ticket that starts December 23-January 1, 2007 will cost you $365.00 CAD + 6% GST. In this example, if you start skiing/riding on December 22, 2006, your entire lift ticket will cost $340.00, even though most of your skiing/riding days will be in the more expensive seasons.
Tip #4-Take Advantage of Pre-Booking Incentives
Whistler Blackcomb heavily rewards customers who pre-book their lift tickets online. Pre-purchasing your 5 or more day discount Whistler lift tickets for your 2006/2007 ski vacation by November 15, 2006 will save you 18-35% on your passes, without any date exceptions. In addition to great savings, you also get on free adult and one free child ski/snowboard group lesson on your first day of skiing/riding with every 5 or more day ticket purchased by November 15, 2006.
For example, purchasing a 6 of 7-day lift ticket starting on December 22, 2006, will reward you with a savings of $130 CAD and a free adult and a free child ski or snowboard lesson, providing that you purchase it by November 15, 2006.
What if you can’t book your vacation by November 15, 2006?
You still save 5-20% on tickets pre-purchased within 72 hours of picking them in the resort.
Tip #5-Be Aware of Date-Driven Promotions & Plan Accordingly
In addition to early booking incentives, Whistler Blackcomb also offers Whistler Discount Discovery Weeks, when the resort’s most popular ski and snowboard programs are 50% off.
There are no booking deadlines to qualify, and the promotion takes place during 11 different Whistler ski season weeks.
If you book your vacation to fall within these date ranges, you would save $214 on a 5-day kids ski or snowboard Adventure Camp, or $57/day per adult group lesson.
Tip #6-Don’t Just Focus on Ski-In/Out Accommodation
Staying in a Whistler ski-in/out location will cost you a lot more per night, but often does not result in a better ski vacation experience.
Why?
Slope side properties tend to be smaller, more expensive, and less accessible to Whistler Village. Thanks to a fantastic free Whistler shuttle system, getting to and from the slopes and Whistler Village from most resort locations is easy, fast and free. You don’t have to pay more for the location convenience of slope side accommodation to enjoy the benefits of being close to everything, including the slopes.
Take the time to look at ALL accommodation options within a 10-minute walk to the lifts. You will often get more square footage, amenities and accessibility to Whistler Village conveniences for the same, or less, money.
Tip #7-Book Accommodation Directly with Owners
Booking your accommodation directly with owners offers you the benefits of wholesale accommodation prices, a personal home, and a personal, locally knowledgeable resource person when you need it.
Renting directly from owners enables you to bypass all unnecessary middle agent fees and commissions. There are over 480 Whistler homeowners who now rent their condos privately and directly to Whistler visitors. Booking online directly with owners is easy, secure and guaranteed. If you have never rented directly from an owner before, we recommend that you review these Whistler condo booking tips.
Tip #8-Book Other Vacation Services Direct with Local Businesses to Avoid Middle Agent Fees
Booking activities such as heliskiing, snowmobiling, ziptrekking and ground transportation directly with local businesses is another way to save money.
Some Whistler BC accommodation companies work directly with local partners and pass on all referral commissions to their guests as savings. These Whistler BC discount consumer-direct programs help you save money, but more importantly, you get expert, friendly service directly from knowledgeable local residents who are eager to help you discover Whistler’s beauty and secrets!
Tip #9-Take the Time to Research Flights
With gas prices expected to climb even further, it is worth it to take the time to research flights. Using consolidator services like Expedia.com, Travelocity.com and CheapTickets.com offer the benefits of rapid price comparison and easy online bookings, however, you should also check prices for booking direct with airlines. You will sometimes get better deals and seats. Most airlines now offer easy online bookings and seat selection. Even if there is no price difference, but you can get better seats, it is worth your effort.
Conclusion
Although these tips are Whistler BC-specific, they can also be generally applied to any other ski resort destination. They each have their own promotions and incentives.
Reward yourself with maximum value by taking the time to research pricing and resort promotional programs and try to plan your dates accordingly. Book directly with owners and local businesses for friendly service, local expertise and consumer-direct value.
Above all, remember that in the end, vacations are not about how much money you saved, but about whether or not you created a brilliant lifetime memory with your friends and family. Whistler is an unforgettable place where you can rest, rejoice and renew with your loved ones. Saving money is just the icing on the cake!

Whistler Ski Resort Holiday Vacation (real estate at whistler)
Whistler Ski Resort Holiday Vacation

Whistler Back In The (whistler bc real estate) Saddle
Whistler Back In The Saddle
After winning the Olympics and realising that Whistler, B.C. may have one of the nicest mountains with some of the best skiing, snow boarding, snow shoeing conditions in all of Canada. Whistler has always been a great escape from the everyday whether you are local or you travel great lengths to get here. It has been consistent and always a rush to go up for a great ski getaway. The last two seasons we have seen a dramatic difference in the conditions, where did all the snow go? Now all points seem to pull toward the massive warming of the earth due to green air gas emissions and global warming.
I believe the tides are finally changing for our little whistler village, with our slopes opening up early and the snow has just kept on going. With the snow going like crazy so early in the season I can imagine that this is going to be one of whistlers best seasons in quite some time. So what next? I guess the influx of snow and the great conditions are going to bring their fair share of tourists, skiers, snow boarders etc. This means that if you are looking for a place to stay when you head in to Whistler Village the time to book is now.
Your next question may be: Well what would be the best bang for my buck. There are a variety of options when you are looking for accommodations in the busiest spot of the season. When you are looking for accommodations depending on the length of stay you want to be more than anything comfortable and lets not kid ourselves you want it to be affordable. So lets go over the possibilities of what kind of accommodations there are available in Whistler.
Hotels/Motels - Well if you are going to in up one day and out the next this could be cost effective. The wonderful thing about hotels is they have a bed, and a bathroom and if your lucky you could get there dried up continental breakfast, or you could spend some extra cash and go off to the next greasy spoon and eat your self into a heart attack. Now Im talking low end here folks we all know that you can get all the luxuries of home I suppose in the hotel/motel experience as long as you have the coin to back it up.
Bed and Breakfasts - Now here is a truly comfortable way to travel in fact it is one of my favourite accommodation methods, you wake up to warm feeling and your breakfast is made for you before you step the last step in the kitchen, the conversation is friendly talking to the family that may be hosting or to some other travellers that happen to be passing through. Like I said my absolute favourite way to travel with the feeling of comfort and a feeling of home.
Cabin/Condo Rentals - This is a great way to travel is you are travelling with a group of 5 or more people, I love the feeling of the great outdoors just outside my bedroom and the feeling of camaraderie when you are travelling with a few of your closest friends, and it gives you the feeling that you are camping. Now if you are not feeling much like your an outdoorsy person and require the same luxury of home and with a reasonable budget you can always rent a condo and live like you never left home.
The choice is really up to you, whether you enjoy hotel living or you want to feel the comforts of living like you never left home in your own condo rental. One thing is for sure, Whistler has got their groove back and if you want to catch the best deals the time to book is now! Whistler is on the verge of their best season and if you wait too long you may miss the boat!

Ski Vacation At Whistler Resort
Whistler ski resort often gets voted as one of the best ski resorts not just in North America but in the world year after year. The popular Ski Magazine once quoted a fan of Whistler as saying, “If you can’t have a great skiing holiday at Whistler, then find another sport!”
The Whistler ski resort is also famous not only for its fabulous ski trails and spectacular scenery, it is also famous for its family friendly services and activities. It has fabulous activities for kids such as adventure zones, magic-carpets, play-fort just to mention a few.
Called by its official name Whistler Blackcomb Resort is actually made up of two big mountains. The resort is about an hour and fifteen minutes north of Vancouver, Canada. Holiday makers can fly direct or to Vancouver airport and travel by road to the resort. If traveling by road, then be cautioned that driving conditions during winter months can be dangerous.
This ski resort is so popular that it will be hosting the skiing events for the Olympics in 2010. The self contained Whistler Village has a thriving tourist economy and has a variety of restaurants, shops, inns and hotels accommodations.
The Whistler-Blackcomb resort more than two hundred mountain skiing trails covering over more than 8000 acres of terrain and nearly a mile of vertical drop with thirty-eight lifts and gondolas and boast of a whopping average snowfall of 30 feet per year.
As mentioned in the beginning of this article, Whistler ski resort is a family oriented vacation resort. There are very well organized programs for the children. Whistler Kids is one of the largest children skiing and snow boarding programs you can find in any ski resorts.
The Magic Carpets kids program make learning skiing easy for the young beginners. At the Adventure Camps, your kids get to stay with the same group of children learner and instructor all week long. The Whistler ski resorts even have a licensed childcare service. As for your teenagers, they can join a week-long “Ride Tribe”.
The Big Easy Terrain Garden in the resort is a gentler terrain park meant for kids skiing or snowboarding. Then there are Adventure and Play Zones too. Blackcomb Mountain has a Children’s Adventure Park, with runs through the forest and there is even a ski-through castle. For night skiing, families can ride the Magic Chair ski lift use the beginners’ slope or have fun on a number of added features such as rails and boxes.
With all these vacation goodies, is it any wonder why The Whistler Ski Resort is one of the most popular ski resorts in the world?

Whether you are an individual looking for property, or are working with a negotiator, make sure that your individual needs come first.
If you are like most, you know that it would be beneficial to just have money handed over your way.
////////Directory of Homes for sale //////////////////
Toward the bottom of the Extreme are two quad chairs, the Glacier Express and the Jersey Cream Express lies a magnificent collection of chutes and gullies which spreads across the mountain.
The Whistler Ski Holiday Resort also have an area for novice heliskiers. Intrepid heli-skiers can try it for a day before venturing into one of the remote heliskiing lodges for a whole week of heliskiing with Bell 210 or AStar helicopters. Then again, with such fantastic vertical drop in Whistler Ski Resort, who needs helicopters right?

Norm Goldman, Editor of Bookpleasures.com, reviews Wayne Winterton’s Whistler’s Gold: The Secret At Nizhoni Toh with a cross link to an interview with the author.

The following review was contributed by: NORM GOLDMAN: Editor of Bookpleasures. CLICK TO VIEW Norm Goldman’s Reviews
To read Norm’s Interview With Wayne Winterton CLICK HERE
Wayne Winterton?s Whistler?s Gold: The Secret At Nizhoni Toh takes as its backdrop a great deal of culture, tradition, geography, environment and history of the Navajo- Native Americans that reside in Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. Winterton has lived and worked on the Navajo Reservation in the American Southwest and was a school superintendent with the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
The setting for his debut novel is Northern New Mexico where the first chapter tells us about the 1934 murder of Shorty Anderson that had occurred in the old trading post in Tsaya, an imaginary town that according to the Author?s Notes can be identified as Lake Valley. Apparently, before the very eyes of the witnesses to the killing, Shorty?s corpse vanished and his killer, Caleb Harris, escaped, running up the surrounding cliffs and crossing a ledge to Nizhoni Toh.
For the next forty years the town?s residents speculated as to what actually happened. Since the tragic and unbelievable event, it was believed that the old trading post was inhabited by the chin?di (evil spirits) and the ghostlike figure of Hasteen Whistler, thus putting fear into anyone who dared to enter the abandoned building.
As the narrator recounts, there would be no story to retell if it had not been for Carl Colliard, who came to New Mexico prospecting for gold bars. Eventually, Colliard in 1961 opened the Colliard?s Antique Emporium in Farmington New Mexico, where one day an elderly Navajo man approaches him and sells him four sheets of very thick old paper, one of which contained a sketch with Spanish writing. When asked where these documents came from, the elderly gentleman indicates that it was found on the reservation. After taking possession of the documents, Colliard forgets all about them until ten years later when he rediscovers the documents stuck in the folds of a newspaper stored in a mailing tube.
/////Amazing Real Estate directory of realty websites ////////
From here the story begins to unfold taking on unusual twists and coincidences wherein we meet Grace Garretson, a white Anglo teenager from Cleveland, who moves with her mother and father to northern New Mexico. Grace meets a young Navajo, Kee Notah, falls in love with him and eventually marries Kee. The couple have a daughter Rena, who, as we will later discover, plays a pivotal role in the mystery. Winterton weaves a tale of intrigue, romance, mystery and second guessing, where the lives of Grace and Kee are intertwined with the murder of Shorty Anderson, Nizhoni Toh, the old trading post, Kee?s uncle Harry, as well as the historic Conquistadors, and the discovery of some valuable coins.
Unfortunately, this ambitious novel is not without its flaws with its occasional loosely developed scenes and underdeveloped characters that often detract from what could have turned out to be a really good ?thriller diller”. From time to time the relationship of incidents is awkward, as well as its pacing, particularly with the introduction of Grace and Kee into the story and their relationships with the other minor characters that affect their lives. Nonetheless, I have to admit, that in spite of these shortcomings, once you are into the narrative it becomes increasingly difficult to put down, as we are eager to find out how it will all end. Another plus is that the novel’s setting did make an impression on me and it will no doubt serve as an excellent incentive for readers to research more about the Navajo Nation, particularly as Winterton blends his vast knowledge of Navajo culture into the narrative. Although, this may not have been the intention of the author
, the novel could also be quite appropriate as a suggested reading for young adults. ABOUT THE AUTHOR
